I am Silke Miller, Board Certified Health Coach & Certified Transformational Life Coach; Aficionado of all things wholesome, inspiring & vibrant;
Kitchen genie, devotee of slow food and enthusiast of profound conversations that last through the night.
For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for living a full, healthy and happy life; and I am convinced that there is a way for every-body to create the life they dream of having.
The pursuit of health and happiness is not always straight forward and not always free of obstacles. This is most likely true for everyone, including myself. Even though I had been working in the healthcare field my entire professional life - having studied Physical Therapy in addition to other holistic modalities such as Osteopathy, Yoga, Meditation, NLP, Hypnotherapy and Energy Medicine - I found myself struggling with low energy, anxiety and autoimmune problems.
Knowing what I knew I did my best to walk my talk practicing self-care and working on improving my health - until the day that adrenal burnout got the better of me, despite my efforts.
"I just didn't see it coming"
What happened next:
This was that moment when I learned the hard way that the food we eat - the nourishment that is supposed to sustain our body - and the thoughts we think (e.g. our mindset) can and does make all the difference;
Finding the right information about health-giving food for each individual person is not easy to come by - in fact it can be absolutely confusing.
After understanding that my body knows better than anybody else what I need, I started changing my diet to eating in a way that worked for me and MY body.
I calmed my immune system and nervous system by giving myself permission to do it "My Way" instead of pushing myself to be perfect at all times (read: identifying & taking care of stress at its root cause)... and only then did I finally turn the corner to feeling myself again.
Twenty-four hundred years ago Hippocrates was spot on when he said: "Let Food Be Thy Medicine and Medicine Thy Food." I couldn't agree more.
Today I am feeling better than I ever have. And so can you!
During my time living in Hong Kong I discovered that the word for crisis is made out of two Chinese characters meaning "danger" and "opportunity". As difficult as a situation may seem, I trust that we always have the choice and the power to use it as an opportunity rather than something that brings us down.
