You've heard of menopause... what about Momopause?
Mom-life is demanding enough. Then enter hormone changes worse than puberty, and lasting for longer.
Life feels harder, weight sneaks on (especially that belly fat), energy feels minuscule and sleep alludes us.
Moms put themselves last, making health even more difficult to maintain, let alone, regain.
What if you knew the little changes that could actually improve your health right now without overhauling your life (or starving yourself) to get there?
The changes are simple, and sometimes take even less time and energy than you're currently spending while struggling to reach your goals.
Welcome to Momopause, where we turn barely surviving into thriving.
Founded by Tiffany, aka Dr Tiff, a real mom in perimenopause who was tired of women falling victim to the "eat less, move more, just try harder" line we've all heard.
Welcome to your (midlife) evolution. It only gets better from here.
What we're eliminating
Restriction
Your body needs support, not more stress from inadequate nutrition. Most women have tried cutting calories for so long that their body has adapted and even a large deficit just doesn't work anymore. There's a better strategy.
Cardio for calories
Cardio has value. That value is not measured in calories burned. That mindset is outdated and harming your progress. Let's choose what benefits your heart & lungs, but also your nervous system and longterm goals.
Sacrificing sleep
Swapping sleep for a workout, working late, or especially doomscrolling, is not a fair trade. Sleep can be a struggle in this season, but there are ways to protect it. When sleep improves, everything else can too.
What we're embracing
Nutrition
Fueling with adequate protein, fiber, healthy fats, even hydration, gives your body the energy it needs, helps send the right signals, and even aids in balancing hormones.
Strength
Muscle is your new bestie. It doesn't mean bulky. It means toned, and even more importantly, capable and less-breakable. Age isn't doing us any favors. We have to take control. This is how.
Regulation
Nervous system. Circadian rhythms. Recovery. Stress management. Gratitude. Breath work. Self care.
It's not whoo-hoo and it doesn't have to be major to make a difference. But it does matter.
